I think asking this question to yourself will make you feel fear in your chest.
Though give it a thought.
Are you just unfocused or purposely choosing distractions?
Why would I do that? The defensive reaction will say this.
However, there are enough probable reasons for people to welcome distractions in life
Fear of facing real challenge or problem
Denial of reality, because it’s painful
Excuses for not doing something that you do not like
Fear of failure
Avoiding hardwork
Pretending to live a life that you desire but do not have
Suffering mental health issues that you trying to suppress
Ok so now, is this relatable?
People complain about distractions in many ways but for many, the truth is they purposely d not want to focus on things they should.
-An employee knows he should practice giving presentations among internal colleagues so that he can correct mistakes but he fears knowing his own mistakes, hence choose to do other stuff like going for tea breaks, reading or answering emails, etc
-You know the habit of writing a journal at night or analyzing the day will help you in many ways but you do not want to face reality so choose to go to another world of Netflix or similar activity
-You know a good diet and exercise will help your health but you do not want to be strict with yourself, so you wear the mask of a foody person and pretend you are happy eating food and being unhealthy. Is it true, I mean who doesn’t want to be fit?
Check your lifestyle with this magnifying glass.
Is there any habit you have developed to get distracted from reality?
Why exactly you are not talking to yourself and not being honest?
Will it take you anywhere or just eat your time and worsen the situation?
Please get the courage and talk to yourself. Believe me, you need it.
