Last week, I had a discussion with a friend who is a product manager in a corporate setting.
I wanted to check how she has been in terms of physical health, and she responded that her cholesterol levels are high. She mentioned that she knows what needs to be done but is not able to resist the foods she should be avoiding. During the conversation, she revealed that it has all become a #coping mechanism for her #emotional #conflict with her husband.
When we are emotionally choked and feel trapped, not knowing how to process and vent in a healthy way, that emotional energy gets stored in our physiology and causes pain.
We start taking small shortcuts to feel better, and in this process, we are not #addressing the part of us that is longing for #healing. Coping mechanisms like shopping, drinking, emotional eating provide #temporary relief; however they do not #repair or heal.
❤️🩹Healing starts from identifying, recognizing, and accepting your #feelings.
As a result, we start cluttering our own beautiful #four #homes where we will stay as long as we are on this earth: our Mind, Body, Emotions, and Energy.
Once any of these homes gets cluttered and messed up, it influences the other homes as well, manifesting in different ways, in this case, in the physiology, creating an unhealthy coping mechanism of unhealthy eating.
In this overloaded world, with overthinking, overeating, over-exercising, and an overload of information, we attend to all of it but ignore the well-being of the most important person in this universe: that is SELF.
Renovating all your FOUR HOMES is not something we wait for, like Diwali cleansing once a year as we used to do with our house.
Rather, it needs regular attention at regular intervals. Each house has the ability to influence the others.
