Does it really?
People hardly think about a person when they see their possessions.
Whenever we see big houses, our first thought is usually, “I wish I had such a house” or “I want to build a house like that.”
We hardly think about how hard they must be working for such luxury.
In another scenario, if we see someone helping others we feel good about them, if we see someone sacrificing a seat or sharing food we immediately respect them.
The Tata Group is not only famous for the highest number of successful brands in India but for the initiatives they take for social causes, like cancer hospitals, pet hospitals, archery institutes, and mango seed plantation initiatives.
The point is people get attached to you for your thoughts and actions, not just for your possessions.
A friend will always remember you for picking her up on a rainy night, not for the branded dress you let her keep.
Humans connect with humane values. In any generation, if you look closely, it’s evident.
When we celebrate medals & awards of celebrities, we celebrate achievements and success in general. The same goes for the loss of others.
It hardly makes a difference in our lives, but we connect with others’ joys and sorrows because we all share a human essence.
So, invest more in cultivating those values.
Kindness, care, honesty, love, and mutual respect are still the most precious things to have.
Work hard to be resourceful in life but also strive to enrich your human values. Actual growth is also measured in those terms.
